What can I say about Awaze Ethiopian Eritrean Cuisine? Amazing food. This was my first time eating Ethiopian food, and I was blown away. From the minute I entered the restaurant, a friendly waitress greeted me; she was extremely friendly and answered all my questions. I ordered a meat sampler and was amazed at how well the dish tasted. The spicy sauces blended exceptionally well. I also ordered the Lamb Awaze tips. The lamb was incredibly tender. It's hands down the best food I’ve tried in NC. Take it from me: do yourself a favor and give this restaurant a shot.

As a party of seven, we had a dinner at Awaze. We all liked the food, which is fresh and authentic, and the service. Our greeter and waitress, Eden, was very welcoming and pleasant during our entire visit. She answered our questions completely. I had Asa (Fish) Tips. The combination of white fish and vegetables was excellent. We highly recommend Awaze for a great dinner experience. Thank you, Eden, and Awaze!

This was my second visit to Awaze Ethiopian Eritrean Cuisine, and once again, their food did not disappoint. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, yet it's bursting with flavor. I don't remember the exact names of the dishes we ordered, but you can see them in the photos. The presentation was appealing, and the food tasted even better than it looked. The decor adds a nice touch to the overall experience. The service is decent—not outstanding, but it didn't take away from the experience. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Came to Awaze from Greensboro because we were missing Ethiopian food. The experience didn’t disappoint. Food was delicious and service was great. Highly recommend other folks check them out. For anyone that is new to the cuisine I recommend getting the platters that way you can try a little bit of everything. We normally get a veggie platter and a meat entree.

Last night, we celebrated our holiday party at Awaze, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The venue itself is fantastic, and the food was nothing short of spectacular. We enjoyed a delightful array of vegan dishes, appetizers, and incredibly fresh tibs. The service was exceptional, making our guests feel right at home. A heartfelt thank you to Awaze for creating such a warm atmosphere. We left with full hearts and a sense of gratitude for having an authentic Ethiopian gem in our town!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Awaze. We live a couple hours away but had heard great things. It was worth the drive. It's not a quick in/out place to eat and food is obviously made fresh get an appetizer and get ready for great food and fantastic service.

Our experience at Awaze Ethiopian Restaurant was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm smiles and outstanding customer service. The staff is so kind and friendly, making us feel right at home. The food was incredibly delicious—every dish was packed with authentic flavors, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully served. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The injera was soft and just right, and the spices brought out the best in every bite. The best part? My picky eater son, who usually refuses to try new foods, actually ate kitfo—and he loved it! That alone says so much about how amazing the food is. The restaurant itself is cozy, clean, and filled with Ethiopian culture, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The people are so friendly, which makes the dining experience even better. Whether you’re new to Ethiopian cuisine or a longtime fan, this is the perfect place to enjoy a truly authentic meal. We will definitely be coming back!

The experience has been wonderful every time I visited. The food has been phenomenal. The first visit, I ordered the kitfo. It was prepared clean, and the injera accompanied and complemented it perfectly. It was my very first exposure to Ethiopian food when I had first went, and I did not know what to expect. However, after the first visit, I was very impressed and I came a second time - which is the time of writing my current review. It’s safe to say, there was a reason I went back. I am glad I did. The service is wonderful, and they do not rush you. The presentation, as showcased in my photos, are dreamy. I highly recommend Awaze and I am planning on coming back again!
